How it all started
Meet the “King of Dragon Fruit” Mr. Anthony Kinoti Mugambi
Mr Anthony Mugambi Kinoti recounts falling in love with the dragon fruit in 2015 after being offered a piece by a friend. When the fruit was cut, the inside looked fleshy with black seeds. The “king of dragon fruits,” as he can be described, took a bite and found the taste to be unique.
He remembers relating the taste to that of strawberry or watermelon. He took a piece of the fruit home, marking the beginning of his dalliance with dragon fruit.
Later on, he conducted research on the fruit and discovered that it comes in two varieties, yellow and pink, and is rich in protein, carbohydrates, fiber, sugars, vitamin A and C, iron, and magnesium.
